Main Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about animals in the context of animals

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-9 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T greets ss. T will ask for homework and check them. S/he will correct their mistakes. T will review last session's lesson.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Before listening part, T will review the words related to the context which is about animals. Then s/he will ask them to read the questions in the listening task and ask their questions.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

T will play the ss a listening task and will ask them to answer the questions. T wants ss to be quiet while listening and mark their questions and ask them at the end of the listening.

After-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

T will ask ss to tell the answers. T will start the next task and explain the related grammar and new words. S/he will mention some examples to the ss and want them to make sentences.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

T will play a game with ss related to the grammar. T will do the review task which is at the end of the item.
