Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a debate in the context of animals

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about animals in the context of animals

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will greet ss. T will talk about new semester.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

T will attach some pics to the whiteboard. T will ask ss to come and match the related words to the pics. T will correct their mistakes and explain their mistakes.

Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T will ask ss to do the tasks in the SB. After doing the task there will be a listening task. T will ask ss to do the listening and show the animals by doing panthomym.

Report (6-8 minutes) • To allow students to report on how they did the task and how it went

Ss will be asked to speak about their fav animal and their features. Even with doing panthomyms.

Language Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

Ss will be asked to speak about their fav animal and their features. Even with doing panthomyms.
