Description

In this lesson,students will learn how to write a covering letter in a right way.The lesson starts with showing the students some pictures and asking them some questions as a warm up.Then,I will provide the students with a model of a covering letter.Finally,students are going to move to the critical thinking part in which they are prepared to write the target letter at the end of the session

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of contractions in the context of success.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will see some pictures and I will ask them some questions about the pictures such as what about this picture? and finally I am going to tell them some information about the pictures.I am going to ask them some CCQs about the topic to guess it such as Is a covering letter a letter you send to apply for a job?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

I am going to give the students a model of a covering letter to know the steps and how to write it in a good way,so they have to read it and focus on the steps of writing a covering letter.Finally, I will ask them to do ex 1 in pairs and then check their answers in small groups.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

I will ask them to match each word with its meaning on the WB .I will ask them to answer ex 2 in pairs.Finally, I will write the model example on the WB and go for MFP(will+inf),so I will write this example on the WB : I will be available to start work from the middle of June. and I will ask the students about meaning ,from and pronunciation and finally, Ss will check ttheir answers in small groups.

Productive Task(s) (3-5 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

students will write a similar letter to Horizons Unlimlited in response to their advertisement on page 54.I will moniter them during writing

Feedback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Finally,I will write some incorrect sentences on the WB and ask them to correct them.
