In this lesson,Learners continues with the same theme as the previous lessons,but use the grammar and vocabulary more.Ss will have plenty of practice.


Main Aims

  • To provide practice of verb to be in the context of personal information

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about the audition Interview in the context of personal information
  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about the audition Interview in the context of personal information


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows learners the photo of the band on page 20 and have them guess who the people are.Whole class feedback.

Listening for gist (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Have leraners listen to track 3.6 to verify prediction from lead in.In order to improve their listening skills,T won't give the text.Check it whole class.

Listening for specific information (7-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

First,T gives them handout 1 and have learners listen to track 3.7 and complete the handout.Pair check and whole class feedback.

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Give them handout 2 and have learners work individual to complete the blanks in the interview transcript.Pair check and give the correct answers on the board. ICQs;Are we working alone?-No Are we writing the answers?-Yes

Clarify the Language (5-8 minutes) • to review the target language they have learnt in the previous lesson using responses.

Write some uncompleted sentences on the board and ask them to complete them.Write negative and question forms of the sentences and ask them to make them short . I am ___ from Scotland.=I'm not CCQs;Am I from another country?-Yes Do I live in Scotland?-Maybe Is this your band?-Yes it is. CCQs;Am I in this band?-Yes Is there a few people in a band?-Yes Are they from Ireland?-Yes,they are. CCQs;Are they from another country?-No Are they from the UK?-Yes.why?-Because Ireland is in the UK. Form:S+am/is/are+not+object Am/Is/Are+Subject+Object+?

Controlled practice (8-10 minutes) • to be sure if know how to make a sentence with verb to be in negative and question forms.

Give them handout 3 and 4.Ask them to complete it individual and check them in pairs.Write the correct answers on the board and ask them to check if they are true or not.

Freer Practice (8-10 minutes) • to see if they can produce sentences in the target language

Ask them work in groups.It is written some prompts and request them to ask and answer the questions in pairs.Reflect some questions prompts on the board and have them write it on the board.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • to provide the correct form of the target language

Write some errors that the students have made during the previous activity and ask them if they are correct or not.
