Nightmare jobs
Pre-intermediate ( B2) level

Description

The lesson will be about Nightmare Jobs, I will initiate the lesson through using myself as an example to give the student a hint about what the lesson will be about, and lead from there to the first exercise where the T will emphasis on the bad side of the jobs and ask sts to do exercise after making sure they know meaning of the lexis provided in the exercise, and so it goes with the other exercises to try to achieve the main and sub-aim.

  • To give sts freer speaking practice. To review lexis related to work/jobs

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • provide a general idea about the lesson

T will use himself as an example, by asking the student what he is doing at the moment ( hopefully to get the answer ( teaching ) and from there, T will ask, about what is teaching, again hoping to get the answer ( a job ) and from there he will introduce them to other renowned jobs through the use of pictures and reflect on the positive things about them and the negative ones

Pre-Reading (2-4 minutes) • to set the context and motivate sts to read.

T will show sts pictures of the Lexis they will be introduced to in ( ex 1 ) in order for the sts to know what the words mean

While-Reading (10-15 minutes) • scanning

T will tell the sts what the text is about and ask them to do ( ex 2 ) individually so they can check if their answers were close after that student will check in pairs and after 2 min T will ask for FB. T will ask sts to do ( ex 3 ) in small groups, then after 3 min T will ask for FB and to make sure they understand T will do a little activity with the sts. T will use Drilling to check that sts got the accurate pronunciation of some of the words.

Lexis reviewing (3-5 minutes) • To check if sts did anderstand view in (ex 3)

T will divide sts into 3 or 4 groups then will give each group. 2 colored bundles of paper, one contains words and the other their definitions. And ask sts to match them

Post-Reading (10-15 minutes) • To get student to speak through relating and personalizing.

T will ask sts to work in pairs in order to answer the questions through relating and personalizing moreover sts will have a chance to practice their speaking skills.
