Lexis and speaking lesson
starter level


In this lesson srudents will improve their linguistic outcome with more vocabulary.And will practice their listening skills in the context of family . They will learn the lexis through a power point slights using the way of (meaning, form, phonology) , then there will be a lestining activities to make sure that they got the lesson.

Main Aims

Warmer (3-5 minutes) • TO get friendly with the learners and generate interest on the subject

intering classroom with a smile greeting the learners .Then making a quike conversation to know their names and ages then there will be a quick presentation about me and my family in funny way to get there rapport and interest and for making them ready for what is coming

Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To give them a chance to talk and make them ready for the coming activities

I'll ask them to solve the first exercise in student's book telling them in 1A)please match these picture with its name " after giving them time to match I'll give them a feedback

Usefull language (5-10 minutes) • to learn the new lexis

I'll run this stage through Meaning, Form, Phonology Technique I'll present a pictures for a family members then I'll try to elicit there names then I'll show them its words and how they can spell it after that I'll pronounce every word and make them repeat to teach them how to pronounce these words

controlled practice (5-10 minutes) • check Ss recognize to the correct meaning and pronunciation of the lexis

I'll ask them to solve an exercise to make sure that they understand the meaning of the words then I'll move to exercise 1B in the cousre book to make sure that they can pronounce the words in a write way

Feedback and Error Correction (2-4 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

This stage will be through a nice game which is " the hot seat ". I'll ask a student to set on a chair that is make his/her back face the board and his/her eyes look at the students then I'll present a photo or a name for a family member then I'll ask them to describe it to the hero of the game and make him/her guess what is the name or the photo

Free Practice (5-10 minutes) • provide freer practice of their listening skill and using the new lexis

I'll ask them to move for the listening part then I'll give them time to Answer its activities and after each one there will be a feedback
