This is a lesson in which we concentrate on receptive skills and ability to communicate in a real life situations. Here we learn to use Would you like questions

Main Aims

  • To improve listening things so students can ber more confident in their daily life situations

  • Speaking, to improve ability to speak in Daily life situations

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

To present the topic of the lesson and to make it simple I would like to use visuals in order to make clear words like: Waiter, customer, menu and order I will show the picture and will ask students to guess the words Students can say the word client instead of customer, I will show them that they have the same meaning

Pre-Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will ask Ss: What does the waiter ask? And as a tip I will write on the WB Would ......? And will let them to finish the phrase After I will give the exercise and ask them in paris fill in the gaps in questions 1-4 with these words: anything. drink, order and red

While-Listening #1 (3-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

At this stage we will listen to the exercise and check the answers in the previous exercise.

Post-Listening1 (2-3 minutes) • To highlight the pronunciation of Would you

I will highlight the pronunciation of WOULD YOU and give Ss a phonetic script and drill it

Pre-Listening 2 (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

At this stage I will Introduce the main character of the conversation using the visual and will ask students to guess the word the waiter. so this is will be a drilling. Also here I will remind them vocabulary of the first lessons showing them picture from the book and asking them to name food

While-Listening #2 (7-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

In pairs I will ask students to fill in the gaps with the questions from their first listening (Would you....) Then I will ask them to listen and to check. and What do Emma and Jack order?

Post-Listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

At this stage I will give students answers and get some FB, Also I will ask them if they can guess the meaning of bill from the context. Then I can show picture of Bill Gates and ask them is it he in a dialogue then show the the bill from a cafe

Semi-Controlled Speaking activity (5-10 minutes) • To recall vocabulary and Present Simple Yes/No questions

At this stage students will work in pairs and ask each other Yes No questions. I will ask them to interview different people not their neighbours by mixing the classroom. then i will ask them to come back to their places and if they have time to tell to their neighbour about their speaking partner
