Description

In this lesson students are going to learn a few musical instruments and the people playing them. As an end lesson product they will be able introduce themselves including their imaginary roles.

Main Aims

  • Students will be able to introduce themselves and their jobs(imaginary) using the language related to music.

Subsidiary Aims

  • Students will be able to understand the written and spoken form of a few musical instruments.
  • Students will develop their social of working together.
  • Students will be better able to listen for specific information.

Procedure

Lead in (2-3 minutes) • to check their previous knowledge and introduce the topic to the students

T shows quickly one piece of flash card and asks what it is. T gets feedback and tells that they are going to study musical instruments. T pairs up Ss and ask them to think of other musical instruments. T gets feedback.

Presentation (1-1 minutes) • To introduce new words

T shows the flashcards and check their pronunciation and spelling

Practice (8-10 minutes) • To practice the meaning and pronunciation of new words

T plays guessing game with the Ss Ss acts out as if they are playing the instrument the teacher tells or shows T groups the students and deliver the pictures of the instruments As the T calls out one word, they point or hold the relevant picture. T plays the sound of the instrument and they point to the instrument.

Personalization(optional) (2-3 minutes) • To help the students memorize the words

T asks what sound they like most and they talk in their groups

Presentation (5-6 minutes) • To extend the language and familiarize the students with the context

T reflects the picture of the group and asks some questions Ss scan the short text and answer the questions T delivers the photocopied version and asks them to complete the blanks T plays the audio and they listen to check their answer

Production (15-20 minutes) • To help the students use the language

T explains that they are going to form a band T regroups the students and hands out the piece of paper with the words on them. Ss draw the picture of the instrument. T practice the model with whole class T gives some preparation time to students and when they are ready they act their roles out.
