In this lesson students are going to learn about jobs, i will provide them with a clarified meaning of some of it. The lesson will start by a discussion about jobs we might worked in before or not and what they want to do in the future, then i will ask them to read the activity number 1 to ask about any hard lexis before start answering it, then we will make a conversation to encourage them to speak and talk with their partners about jobs they think their partners can do it, followed by playing guessing game, followed by a classification to the jobs in the photos into 3 groups some they would like to do, some they wouldn't like to do and in the end talk about some one do one of these jobs and finally i will ask them to talk about a job they wish to work in in the future.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of name of the jops in the context of work

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversations to discuss jobs in the context of work

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • I want to stimulate their attention about the subject and motivate them to produce some language to discuss the subject.

I will show them a pictures of some jobs and ask them to think which one of these jobs i worked before. Then i will tell them so do the same with their partners.

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I will ask my students to have a gist reading for the activity number 1 and ask about the hard vocabularies and have also a quick look about the pictures in the page 28 and underline the hard vocabularies.

Clarification (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will by showing them a pictures of peoples in the work and start eliciting the meaning of it by saying do you know, what is this man doing?, what is his job? for example if i am talking about the firefighter , what is this man doing?he putting the fire up. what is his job? He is a firefighter. 2)Do you think his job is dangerous or safe? it is dangerous. Does he need a special clothes or he can wear his normal clothes? 3)I will start drilling the pronunciation of the word and ask them to repeat after me and ask them to repeat one by one. 4) I will stick the picture on the board and write it and divide it into syllables to show them the stress in which part to help them to say it correctly. I will follow same steps with the other words too.

Controlled Practice (5-6 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I will ask my students to back to the activity number one and give them one minute to answer it . I will tell them i want you to work individually to add a job starts with the same letter in the empty space. I will ask them ICQS: how many jobs you going to add in each space? they will answer one. I will ask them would you like me to answer the first one with you or you want to answer on your own? I will let them check answers in pairs then feed back i will ask them to say what did he write and correct mistakes if i found. I will ask them to look at the activity number 2 and read the sentences fast then i will ask them to work in pairs to think which job these sentences referring to . i will ask them would you like to answer the first one with you? you can make a lot of money they will say for example architect. i will ask them only architect can make money i will ask them so say another answers. i will give them some answers to work in a group then provide them with feed back.

Semi-Controlled Practice (6-7 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

I will ask the students to play a game they have to think a bout a job without saying what is it. The student going to describe this job to his partners by saying have to or can/cant. for example: i want to describe the teacher job i will say: you have to study hard. you have to wake up early. you can't be late. you don't have to wear a uniform. i will let them playing this game together by making a conversation. 2)About a0ctivity 4 i will ask them to look at the previous jobs and make a list divided into three sections and write in the first column jobs you would like to do. The second jobs you wouldn't like to do. The third someone you know who does this job? I will give them some time to talk with each others about this informations. ex: I would like to be a teacher. i don't like to be an accountant. My father is an architect.

Free Practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will ask them to write a five sentences about their dream job or what they are want to be in the future. i will give them some time to speak about this job .
