Description

In this lesson students improve their fluency through speaking . I will start the lesson by showing some pictures as a lead in activity and I will ask them some questions about the pictures .Next,I will ask the students to choose a person to talk about.I will give them time to plan their talks and finally students give their talks to the class.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a discussion in the context of positive characteristics of people

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of lexis in the context of positive characteristics of people.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will see some pictures and guess the topic by asking them some questions about the pictures and finally I elicit the topic from the students.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

I will give the students the SB and then I will ask them to choose a person to talk about.I will give them time to plan their talks.They should use the phrases from the useful language box.I will ask them that they should not write everything, but make notes. Finally,the students give their talks to the class.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

I will ask the students to check the meaning of any unknown words in their mini-dictionaries.I will check with the students the pronunciation of some words.Then , the students work in pairs describing people.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

I will give them chance to practice and work in pairs to talk about famous people.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

I will take notes throughout the lesson and write some examples of students' mistakes on the board. Correction about these mistakes will be taken from the students if possible. If there's still extra time, Ss will be divided into two groups and will be given some ideas to discuss.
