Procedure

Lead in (3-4 minutes) • To arise students interest in the topic and prepare them for reading

T ask Ss : How do you come to ITI? How do you go to work? T. Shows Ss a picture of metro Ss work in two equal groups T, Explains the task ( board rush ) Ss match the picture of transportation methods with the words Ss make group check Ss talk for a minute about their favorite transport and why?

Prediction (2-3 minutes) • TO encourage Ss to predict about the text

T. shows the Ss a picture of Bill and Gloria. T. says This Bill and this is Gloria. Do you think they are at home? or on a holiday? How do you know? May be because they are wearing sunglasses. Ss try to guess 5 words they may see in the reading text. Ss work in pairs

Reading for Gist (2-3 minutes) • TO encourage Ss to get an overview of the reading material

T. asks Ss to read the text quickly to find an answer to the following? What is the best title for this passage? Choices: a)Bill and Gloria's very Bad Holiday. b)Seven Countries in Seven Nights c) A Trip To Istanbul T. give ICQs . How many questions? One Are you going to read fast? Yes Ss work individually for 1 minute pair check and WC feedback

Reading for details (7-8 minutes) • To read for specific information

Ss work on a set of questions 1 -5 they scan the text for specific details. Ss work individually through all the questions after 4 minutes Ss check in pairs T. shows a slide for Q and A Ss give answers and justify by referring to the passage

Clarification (7-9 minutes) • To clarify present continuous and going to for future intentions and arrangements in a context of a holiday

T. shows a slide with the examples: They are flying to Europe on Sunday. They are going to stop in Verona. CCQs They are flying to Europe on Sunday. Are they flying now? No. Are they flying in the future? Yes. When? On Sunday. They are going to stop in Verona on Verona. Are they in Verona now? No. Will they stop in Verona? Yes. Is it now?
