Procedure

Lead in (4-5 minutes) • To create interest in the topic

-Ask a question in the context of buying and selling -do you like shopping Where do you go shopping? -Let the students talk -put a pictures on WB -what is this -what do we call a large shop with several parts selling different things? Student will probably say its a market - we call it departmental store -can we buy clothes food television mobile phone and books from a departmental store? Yes -project pictures of three departmental stores on the WB -Tell the students are going to read alone about these stores Harrods in Uk Macy"s in Newyork U.S.A Shinsegae in South Korea

Exposure (7-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a reading text

-Tell the studens that they going to read the text and answer the question belowe -Project the gist question on the WB -Ask ICQs Are you speaking or reading? Reading Are you reading aone or together?alone -Give the students the HO -After atleast 3 minutes Tell the students to Peercheck their answer. Project the answer on the WB

Clarıfyıng the target language (12-13 minutes) • To clarify meaning form and pronunciation

Meaning -Elicit the meaning -Is Shinsegae the only store in the world? No -Is it the biggest store in the world? Yes -Is it number one in the world? yes - How many stores are there in the world? many -When we say it s the biggest store Are we then comparing two or many stores? many Form In pairs -tell the Ss they have two minutes to answer the questions ICQs Are you working alone or together? together How many minutes do you have? 2 -Give the exercise - students peercheck - Monitor and check if thier answers are correct - project the answers on the WB -now you have the marker sentences on the WB - Elicit the form what do we add to the adjective big Give another a similar form example and let hte students give the right answer Do the same for all the marker sentences. pronounciation Model the the pronounciation Where is the stress let the students identify mark the stress on the board drill both individually and chorally
