Procedure

Lead in (2-8 minutes) • To set the context for topic of the lesson (formal writing)

T shows a picture of a nice famous hotel in Turkey and start telling my students the following. T says "I am tired and after CELTA I want to go on holiday to this hotel ( T points out to the picture mentioned above). - T ask Ss the following questions " Do you want to go there?" It's a nice place? - Then, T ask " can I go to this hotel or I need to do something before?" T here elicits the idea of calling or writing to the hotel for reservation. T- says that he wrote an email to the hotel in order to make his hotel reservation.

Preparing students to write (8-10 minutes) • To give students the language they need to write.

-T gives students a copy of model email that he wrote so students can look at it and have an idea about the form of a formal email. -T gives Ss 3 mints to look at the email and then starts highlighting the target language by asking Ss questions such as" *Who wrote the email? *Why did he wrote the email? *How money night does Ismail want to stay in the hotel? As the teacher gets the answers for each question he explains the target language making sure to cover MFP.

Productive task (10-12 minutes) • To allow students to practice writing an email.

Here T gives Ss an incomplete email written to make a hotel reservation. Ss need to fill in the banks based on the modal shown to them before. T monitors and makes sure that students are doing what they are expected to do. T takes notes for later error correction.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-8 minutes) • To provide feedback and error correction on students' use of language.

Once students are finished with the writing task T highlights any mistakes noticed while students were writing.
