Procedure

Lead in • To build a context for the lexis lesson to come. To engage the students' in their understanding of the opic

Start off with a story using pictures of a bad day I was having. Afterwards have them get into groups of two to discuss a bad day they were having.

Presentation • To present the target vocabulary to the students.

How do you feel when you had a bad day? Work in pairs to come up with as many feeling words you can come up with. Give them 5 minutes and start showing them pictures. Tired Elicit: Show an image, ask what it is Model and drill CCQ: Are you energetic?(no) Would I like to sleep? (yes). Did I sleep a lot last night? Write on the WB Hungry: Elicit: Show an image, ask what it is CCQs: All I had was toast this morning... Did I eat a lot today? When was he last time you ate? (I only ate breakfast this morning) Model and drill Thirsty Elicit: Show an image, ask what it is CCQs: Can you drink a lot of water? Controlled Practice (8-12 minutes) • To recognize if the learners are able to use the target language.

Teacher will put the pictures up on the board and have them gap fill the blanks in two different groups. Winner is the group that collects the most. Use ICQs "How many groups"? 2 "When will you go?"(After I say the key word).

Freer Practice • To practice the target language and fluency

Have the students work from the text of the previous exercise to come up with sentences by using the vocabulary in the box for help.

Clarification • To clarify language used in the lexis

Hand students out a hand out with activities. Fill in the gaps.... From that students will create their own material for discussion, in groups of 3.
