Procedure

"You said you stayed at home last weekend and that you want to stay away next weekend. Once you choose your destination, what do you plan?" Ss answer they need to think about what accommodation to stay at. If they don't, then I remind them of the audio where three friends opt for a B&B. I want you to watch this video and tell me what you think of this hotel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMZr6HhOUXA (2.02) So would you like to stay in this hotel? Why/why not? (Demo) Work with a partner and take it in turns to ask and answer these questions: Demo with s- Ask me the first question. When was the last time you stayed at a hotel? two years ago 2015 Did you like it? What was special about it? Yes, I liked it very much. It was nicely decorated. Will you advise your friends to stay in that hotel? Why? Yes, I will because my friends like swimming and the hotel has two swimming pools; one indoor and another outdoor. Two-minute closed pairwork. Open pair, what has your partner told you?

Exposure (10-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in the coming task through reading.

What can make you choose a hotel? (price/ service/ accessibility/ amenities/ hygiene) Where can you find information about hotels? Elicit from ss. If they say the web- Where exactly? If they say website- which one? Show them www.tripadvisor.com- What is this website for? Show them reviews. Why are reviews important? -Other clients' experiences with the accommodation. Hand ss WSs with a review and ask them to fill in a table with information from it. Demonstrate with the first column. Price: is it expensive/ cheap? Ss read review and complete table- check in pairs- Display answerkey with OHP.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practise writing a hotel review.

Ss discuss what they like/ dislike about accommodation. Hand ss strips of paper and ask them to work individually to write two sentences about things they like and two sentences about the things they dislike in a hotel they stayed in. Ss then work with their group members (groups of three/ four) to put their reviews together.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language.

Stick ss' reviews to the wall and ask ss to do a gallery walk to decide which hotel they might choose to go to. They have to give their reasons. Write any language issues with ss work on W/B and work with ss on them.
