To give students a chance to practice Present Simple and Past Simple orally at the same time in the context of holiday
Procedure (41-53 minutes)
-T shows the students the pictures and talks about their holidays. -T pairs the students and asks the students to talk about their holiday. -T divides the students into 4 groups and asks them to write where they could go in the season they are handed. and they put them on the board. ICQs How many words?- Many -How much time? - 3mins
-T opens the presentation. -T asks the students to match the words with the pictures alone in 1 min. -Pair-check - WCFB on WB -T clarifies misunderstandings and unknown vocabulary.
-T chests the handout -T asks the students to underline what they hear in the listening. -T points out to 'usually' and 'last year' ICQs Where is the 'usually' part?- Left Where is last year?- Right What do you do?- Underline After second listening- Pair-check !!! IF the ss have a big problem in understanding the text that is takes so much time, hand out the transcript and do it a pair-work activity. On- board Feedback
