Description

In this lesson SS will learn how to make and write sentences about themselves. It will start with a context from the previous lesson in which the SS will practice asking Wh questions from each other. In the end, they will write some sentences about themselves

Main Aims

  • To provide process writing practice of a simple sentences in the context of personal life
  • To provide product writing practice of a sentences in the context of important events in SS' lives

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide deduction reading practice using a text about Erich Lejeune in the context of life story

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Ask: - What time did you get up today? - How did you come to the class? - Praise all the answers

exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

- Put the SS in groups of 3 ( if too many ss , put them in groups of 4) - Give each group H.o 1 and ask them to match the questions with the pictures - Tell them to work alone - ICQ: Will you put numbers? Do you work alone or in groups? - SS check their answers in their group - SS stand up and check the other ss' answers in the class - Put the answer key on walls - SS check their answers

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

- Give the SS the text without questions - SS make questions of the underlined sentences alone - ICQ: - will you write questions or answers? - will you answer them? - will you work alone or in group? - SS check their answers in their groups - Give the answer key to one person in each group and ask them to check other groups

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

- Change the members of the groups - Give the ss the target questions - Ask them to answer the questions about themselves alone - ICQ: Will you write numbers or sentences? - Will you work alone or in group? - SS ask and answer each other the questions in pairs - SS stand up and ask the questions from each other( the whole class)

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

- SS sit and the T asks them about other ss - SS learn talking about each other's lives and the T gets the chance to extract the mistakes to correct - Write the mistakes and the corrected form on the board for the SS to choose
