Description

In this lesson students will learn a bout the months of the year through the context of the seasons of the year and talking about birthday.Next, students can say a sentence about their birthday month. Then, They can listen and repeat to identify the ordinal numbers. After that, they can talk about their birthday in pairs and in groups.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of the months of the year in the context of seasons of the year /birthday

  • To provide clarification and practice of language used for It's on the third of March in the context of birthday

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • to generate interest in the topic .

- T displays pictures of the seasons of the year. - T divides the Ss to 4 teams naming them winter, summer, fall, and spring and I'll change seating arrangement into 4 circles. - T gives each group some pictures. - T asks them to talk and decide to put the pictures in the order that all of them like to do on the floor. 1 min ICQs: 1. Where do put the picture you like? First or last? First 2. Alone or in group? In group 3. How many minutes? 2 - T asks each group to write as many words as possible about their favorite picture on the WB.

Building context (8-10 minutes) • To narrow the context to a more specific area and continue to generate interest while establishing a clear and specific context for the a language to a rise out of.

- T gives each group words printed in small papers about the months of the year. - T asks them to put them on the correct order. 1 min - T asks Ss to check other groups to say if there is any difference. - T gives the answer key to the Ss. - T drills for pronunciation.

Presentation (8-10 minutes) • To clarify meaning so learners understand it.To clarify the pronunciation so learners know how to say it.To clarify form so that learners know how to construct it.

T give students some activities to clarify the meaning and the form. T asks students to listen and repeat. T asks students to listen and write the numbers. T gives instructions. 1-write the missing months. 2- match the numbers 3 -listen and write the numbers. 4- you have 2 minutes. 5- alone- in pairs-ingroups

Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide controlled oral practice focused on using the target language accurately.

Production (8-10 minutes) • To provide freer oral practice and focused on using the target language more fluently.
