Main Aims

  • To provide In this lesson, students will explore the second conditional through guided discovery via a song and practice the construction in semi-controlled speaking.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of hypothetical situations.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

to give them a paper in order to fill the gaps with correct form of the verbs given.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

through listening to song provide them with second conditional model

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

in this part ss will get handouts in order practice second conditional by filling the blank parts with correct form the verbs

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

here students will get some questions and I'm going to ask them to write their answers and then discuss answers with their partners.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

based on their writing and speaking I'm going to correct their mistakes and if necessary remind them the correct structure as a feedback
