Main Aims

  • To provide a format on how to write and respond to email invitation

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide vocabulary often used in invitations and related events

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • to write and respond to email invitation

show pictures of events: birthday, wedding anniversary, graduation, picnic.Elicit the name of the events and ask how did they know about? Pre-teach vocabulary and phrases.

reading task (8-10 minutes) • expose them to the use of the vocabulary and phrases

SS will be matching several email request with their respond

Useful language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

SS will underline useful phrases for inviting and for accepting and refusing an invitation.

Productive Task(s)/Feedback (18-20 minutes) • Practice target language associated with request/respond

SS will write an email invitation of an event of their choice(error feedback). Redistribute the email to the SS. SS will accept or refuse the invitation giving appropriate respond.(error feedback) After, have the students pass around the email and read them and decide which invitation they like most.
