Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher: * Hi everyone, how are you today? * Thanks, I'm fine too. * The weather is really hot today, right?

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

The T talk about days of the week and elicit them from students: * Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday T writes the words on the WB and notice about "week days" and "week end". T asks: * What do you do in week days? (usually) * I go to work * I go to ITI English course * I stay at home * I get up early * I go to bed early * I watch TV in the evening * I cook meal in the evening * I work * What do you do in the weekend? * I get up late (at 10:00) * I go to bed late * I cook meal three times in the day * listen to music * I phone friends or family * I watch TV all day long * I have meal outside * I meet friends * I go shopping * I go for a walk * I go to the cinema * I go to a party The teacher writes all answers on the WB. T gives students HO (1) and asks them fill the table.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

First let's practice skimming/ listening for gist. The T ask students to listen track 2.16 and answer a question: *Are they talking about weekdays or weekend? (weekend) But let them listen first Connie and answer about Connie. Then move to the Andre and ask about Andre, then to Olga. Always ask: * Why do you think it's about weekend?

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Then practice listening for detailed information. The T gives students HO (2) and they have to listen track 2.16 one more time and fill the gaps. If necessary they can listen two times, or even more. Then T ask them check their answers in small groups.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

The T writes what they have been learnt today on the WB; * What do you do in week days? * What do you do in weekend? * Do you ________ in your weekend? T set up small groups, students discuss about these questions. After 5-8 min T nominate one student from each group to talk.
