Description

In this lesson, students will mainly practice speaking with countable and uncountable nouns. They will try to use among any/some/no in the correct place while they will do Semi-controlled Practice. Then, they will do a role play so that they can practice using countable and uncountable nouns in their sentences.

Procedure

Test before Teach (4-4 minutes) • to help them know if they know of countable and uncountable nouns correctly

1. They will be given a paper. 2. Instruction: "Will you divide these vocabularies according to the group they belong to and write them in the correct position?" ICQ: If a vocabulary is countable noun where will you write down? 3. Peer check, first 4. FB

Lead-in (6-7 minutes) • To bring up personal interests of students on house-sharing

1. Students will be given a hand out. 2. Students will write down their answers first. (1m 30s) 3. They will share with a partner. (2m 30s) 4. FB (whole class)

Remind of the previous lesson (4-4 minutes) • to help students to connect today's topic with the previous lesson

Students will be given a handout. The handout includes only the essence part of the previous lesson. Students will fill out the blanks by themselves first by scanning the text. ->Peer check ->FB (Whole class)

Pair work (speaking) (11-12 minutes) • to let students speak with the given texts

Students will be divided into 2 different groups. either A or B Looking at the 2 different pictures given, they will talk on the differences of the two with their partner. FB (whole class)

Group discussion (18-19 minutes) • To help students to speak and discuss together

Students will be divided into 5 different groups. (A, B, C, D, or E) Assumption: They are now flatmates. They will try to figure out what's going to be their flat's rule. After they make their own rules, then one from each group will come to the front and write down the rules that they made together.
