This lesson continues with a similar context to the previous lesson but changes the focus to listening and reading (Receptive skills). Students will listen and read a text to learn how to fix futur arrangements using present continous.

Main Aims

  • Listening and reading to provide Ss with practice in fixing future arrangements using present continous

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency in speaking practise on how to fix arrangements


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- T asks Ss what is today's date? / Write it on the WB - T asks Ss in which season are we ? / Elicit other seasons of the year / Write them on the WB - T asks Ss to work in pairs and write down three months in each season - WC FB

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

- T asks Ss to listen to the audio and work alone to write down dates they'll be listening to, then they will check with peers - ICQS : Are you going to work in pairs ? - Replay the audio and ask Ss to check their answers - Drilling dates - Pre-teaching vocabulary using a matching handout in groups - WC FB + Drilling

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

- T asks Ss to fill the missing words on the text with the pre-teached vocabulary - T asks Ss to read again the text first alone, then to work in groups to put the messages in order - WC FB - Ccqs / Who is Ben ? / Where does he live? / Why is Lilliy going to Budapest? / Why will Lilly be calling ben in April?

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

- T asks Ss to listen to the second audio and fill in the missing informations on the Handout, Work alone - Peer check - Listen again for WC checking answers

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

- T asks Ss to set an imaginary future arrangements in pairs - FB pair by pair ( if enough time)
