Description

In this lesson, students will practice their reading skills and learn new vocabulary through a text about habits. The lesson begins with a picture that describes habits and hobbies which is related to the text they will be reading. Than students will discussion about hobbies and habits in pairs / groups. Than T will ask question regarding hobbies and habits of people who lives in UK. Students will discuss this in pairs.T will elicit answer from the class and T will write them on the board. Then the students will read the text and compare what they have said and read. After reading the text ,students will guess the correct answers.

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed reading practice using a text about The British way of life in the context of Free time habits.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice vocabulary of free time activities, frequency adverbs and expressions in the context of free time habits.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in Picture (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show the picture to students and tell them the reason that they are looking at the picture. Ask questions: What can you see in the picture?

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Tell them about my hobbies and habits as an example. I will ask SS if they have any daily habits and also any hobbies? Than I will ask them do discuss the life style people have in UK in groups.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I will ask SS to read the text individually and guess the correct answers. Than we will check the answers together.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

SS will complete question on page 9 5a in groups. We will check the answers together.
