Abc cards for telling a story in different tenses
Abc Extra vocabulary tasks for telling a story about car troubles

Procedure

Warm-up (15-20 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students make up a story using pictures

Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • to get students interested in the topic

Ss are asked to think and discuss in pairs about their favourite stories. The are asked to discuss the following points in detail. What is your favorite story? Why? Narrate your story in brief. What is the best part of the story? What kind of story is it? -Sci fi, comedy, tragedy, fairy tale or horror.

Grammar (10-12 minutes) • to remind ss what tenses are used when telling a story

Grammar production (18-20 minutes) • To practice proper grammar for story telling

Give out the cards to the groups of 3-4 ppl, give time limit 10min

Video task (15-18 minutes) • To improve listening skills and notice target language (reacting to news)

Give ss handouts ann give instructions in stages. After each task ss pair check first. HO task 1-3

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

1) SS work in pairs and give&react to news asking extra questions 2) Retell the story Give instructions in stages

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
