Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

To activate students and to set the context, the teacher uses images of people who move to another place. FB WC CCQs: Are this people coming or going? (Going) Are they going to a holiday or they will stay for a longer time? (for a longer time) Are they taking just their personal things or they also change living place? (change apartment)

Pre-teach vocabulary (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Several key words selected from the readings are written on the WB. The words are chosen because they are key words to understand the text and to answer the questions. Chosen words: Medicine, get married, leave, look for, move. T puts the Sts in pairs and gives Ex. 1. FB: teacher select several students to read

While-Reading #1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

Teacher divides the students in 4 groups. Then, T gives to each group different reading. The students read for gist and answer questions from ex. 2 FB PW

While-Reading #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

Teacher gives Ex. 3 to the students. Students read again the texts and answer the questions. Feedback: Pair Work

Post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Teacher divide the groups and put by one person from each group into another group. Later, every student describes his story to the students in the new groups. FB: GW
