Procedure

Lead-in (10-12 minutes) • To prepare Ss for the text and make it accessible

I'll show Ss a picture from the Internet about embarrassing situations of some politicians and ask Ss ( How could you describe these situations?) I ask Ss to complete the seven embarrassing situations SBp.60 EX.1 then put the in order number 1 is the most embarrassing& number 7 is the least

While-Reading #1 (10-12 minutes) • Teaching vocabulary related to the text

Ss work in pairs to guess the meaning of new vocabulary using Ho 2 S-S in PW read and complete the sentences EX.1 p. 60 using the words in the box. S-S PW put the sentences in order number 1 is the most embarrassing & number 7 is the least.

While -Reading #2 (12-14 minutes) • To read two embarrassing situations about two politicians - reading for gist

Ss in pairs read about two stories of embarrassing situations happened to two politicians Gloystein from Germany & Prescott from England , then pairs PW put (P) or (G) in front of the sentences EX.3p. 60 The teacher divides the students into groups A and B; group A reads the first text about Gloystein while group B reads the second text about Prescott in a jigsaw reading. Then in pairs they exchange the information about the texts they have read.

Post-Reading (7-10 minutes) • Ss in pairs discuss the questions EX.4

SS in PW, discuss the questions EX.4 p.60

Free Discussion (5-7 minutes) • To provide fluency talking about general scandals of prominent characters (politicians)

S-S PW talk about different scandals of politicians.
