Main Aims

To provide clarification, review and practice of verbs used to make word combinations in the context of holding meetings.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide accuracy and fluency speaking practice when asking for and giving opinions in the context of meetings.
Procedure (55 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Ask class what they have learnt about meetings - refer back to Unit 10.
Exposure (10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation
Unit 12, Meetings Quiz, Pg 59 - 4 groups to each decide on an answer.
Vocabulary (15 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
Unit 12, Pg 59 PW to identify verbs that can be correctly used to make word combinations with the noun, relevant to meetings.
Assessment of Grammar 27.1.14 (10 minutes) • To concept check student's skill further
Unit 12 Meetings 2, Pg 60 Q2 Students to work on their own to complete Q2, 1-7 for assessment.
Language Focus (15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
