Description

Ss are going to have speaking lesson practicing receptive skills to help them process written & audio text . Learners will have practiced their listening for gist and detailed comprehension.

Main Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice in a Ask and answer questions about two people visiting Istanbul and two others visiting Cairo, in the context of Reading two e mails about Liz & Steve visiting Istanbul , Alice & Mike visiting Cairo .

Subsidiary Aims

To provide oral semi controlled practice of the target lesson TL regarding the use of V. Be plural form in question & answer

Procedure (42-52 minutes)

Warmer / To set lesson context and engage students . (6-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students.

Ss look at two photos on the white board and think , where are these photos. Ss think in two groups ( A ( & ( B ) and say at least 3 things in each country they know about.

Exposure (10-12 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Teacher will explain the task of using V. ( Be ) plural form in questions and answers in pairs Ex. 11 p. 23 Ss listen to CD 56 and practice the questions and answers in pairs. Ss are divided in groups ( A ) & ( B ) to read the e mails on p. 22,23. Then ask questions and give their answers in pairs .

Useful Language (10-12 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks.

Ss use ( Be ) plural correctly to ask questions about Liz & Steve in Istanbul. Also ask the same questions about Alice & Mike in Egypt

Productive tasks (10-12 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss in pairs would speak freely about members of their families traveled to a certain country ( A ) and asked by ( B ) yes- no questions & Wh... questions

Free Practice (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
