Description

In this lesson, the students will learn and review numbers. They will listen to number pronunciation, write the correct spelling and talk about how old are the people in the exercises. They will also discuss their family members' age in groups.

Materials

Main Aims

  • For the learners to practice numbers vocabulary.

Subsidiary Aims

  • For the learners to listen to sounds of numbers and then to say the numbers with the correct stress.

Procedure

Warm up (5-6 minutes) • to make the learners relaxed and ready to begin a lesson

on the WB T will write the word NUMBERS and ask students to give examples of numbers. Then learning will write and numbers on the WB and pronunce them. The learners will be also asked to guess the age of the T. That could be a fun guessing game.

STAGE 2 (5-6 minutes) • to practice telling numbers

The learners will be handed HO1 with various numbers and will be asked to say the numbers and pretend the numbers are their ages. Then in group they will tell to each other their ages.

STAGE 3 (7-9 minutes) • To practice saying numbers

Learners will be given HO2 and they will be asked to do ex 1,2,7,on page 20

STAGE 4 (7-9 minutes) • to speaking about numbers in groups

learning will continue doing ex. 5,6,8 from p. 20 in the face2face book having been given demos for each exercise.

STAGE 5 (6-7 minutes) • To make learning comfortable talking about numbers

learners will continue exercises 10 & 3 on page 20 of face2face coursebook. They will have a demo from a T, listen to the cd and working on pronuncing the numbers correctly with the right stress. Then they will be ask to check with partners.

STAGE 6 (3-4 minutes) • to energize the learners

The learners will walk up to the numbers hung on the classroom walls and talk about the numbers they see as their age and tell it to others. Then they will ask about other people's age.

Stage 7 (4-5 minutes) • to have the learners talk about their own families and numbers

The learners will be asked to show photos of their families and talk with partners about their childrens, wife/husband's age. Then they will ask their partners about the age of their family members.
