Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To introduce the topic and get the students interested in it

T shows the picture of a website agency and asks questions about what students know about them

Exposure (4-5 minutes) • To provide context for the lesson

SS read the emails of Natasha and Darren and find out the what these people decided to do (for gist). Then they read again to complete gap-fill exercise (for detail) Check in pairs

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T shows the picture of Natasha and Darren on a date in the restaurant and elicit what they might ask each other.

Clarification (5-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

SS fill the gaps in the dialogue with TL. Compare answers in pairs, check by listening.

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

SS do gap-fill exercise, compare answers in pairs, check answers SS listen to the rest of the conversation and fill the table, compare answers in pairs, check answers SS ask each other questions about Natasha and Darren habits and preferences SS fill the form about their partner asking them questions using clues on the form

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T set up a role-play. SS work in pairs, one wants to meet a partner, another is an agent and has a profile of a possible partner. S1 asks questions about their possible partner, then they swap roles
