Procedure

Lead in (5-8 minutes) • To set the general context of the lesson and to grab Ss' interest

1) Project 2 pics 2) CCQs what time is this pic about? Elicit is it about past/ present/ future? 3) GW. HO1 -Read the words. Think of what time each word is about. Take 1 min. 4) Group (violet) put the words which we are going to use for present on the board. Group (pink) put words which we use for future on the board. 5) Check and if smth is wrong CCQ and correct.

Clarification (10-12 minutes) • Clarify the usage of present progressive for future arrangements.

1) Maria is flying to Russia now. 2) Victoria is flying to Russia on 12th of May. M-Which one is present and which one is future? How do we know? F-Subject+am/is/are+verb-ing. Is? Not. P-Highlight contraction and connected speech.

Controlled practice (5-7 minutes) • To practice the use of TL present progressive for future arrangements.

1) HO 2 -match Alan's notes.

Freer practice practice (10-15 minutes) • to provide Ss with opportunity to practice speaking for fluency
