Description

In this lesson,students learn about vowels with using them in some activities. Then students learn for which activities we can use do, play, go, go to. After that students learn about using (Do you ever....) in their sentences. Then they can learn about free time activities in Britain and at the end they can write about their own free time activities.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide review and clarification of vowels and practice of using do , play, go, go to in activities and practice of using ( Do you ever ....) in sentences.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist and scan reading practice using a text about the British free times and showing the main stress in some words that we do as activities.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T introduce him/herself and asks ss name. T writes free time activities. T asks ss how often do u have free times? What do u do in your free times?

Test #1 (6-8 minutes) • To gauge ss' prior knowledge of the target language

T gives HO to ss for matching T asks ss to check their answers in pairs. T checks the answers

Teach (6-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T asks ss to answer part 2a T asks ss to check the answers in pairs T checks the answers ( gives paper include answers) T asks to pronounce words in part 2b T asks some question with Do u ever... Do you ever go to museums? T asks ss to practice part 3 in pairs

Clarification (4-7 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T asks ss to pronounce the activities in part 2b T pronounces him/herself

Reading for specific info (8-11 minutes) • To practice reading for specific information( scanning)

T asks ss to guess what's British's free time activities T asks ss to read the reading part of HO. T asks to circle words that ss can't pronounce. T asks ss to speak their own ideas in group. T asks ss to pronounce words that they're circled T asks ss to tell their own ideas.
