To provide work on Past Simple forms in the context of past weekend
Procedure (45-59 minutes)
To speak about the people from the previous stage. To ask students who they like more and make a voting.
To bring Ss' attention to one of the sentences from the text and to ask if things happen usually, sometimes, or often. Ask them to change it and make it a regular activity.
To ask for the differences that students notice in two sentences: one for regular activity they would have made and the original one. Elicit that it happened last Saturday and it's finished.
To handle HO1 and ask Ss to work with the first part of it in the groups for 3 minutes. To get a feedback by making groups speaking out their answers in turns. To provide HO2 and continue with HO1. To get a feedback after finish regular and irregular forms part.
To ask Ss to work in pairs and discuss projected HO3. To ask Ss to write their answers on the board and to get a feedback. To project HO4 and ask underline the correct form of Past Simple. To work as a WC with the results and give a checklist.
To regroup students. To ask them to use HO2 and write three irregular verbs in Present form. To collect it, mix, and give to different students, and ask them to write the verbs in Past Simple form. Then, to collect it again, mix, and distribute it. To ask Ss to keep it for a while and try to remember the forms.
To ask Ss to write down three things they did last Saturday. Then, to ask them to talk about it together.
