In this lesson ,students will review weather vocabulary through games and discussions also they will have a free practice where they can review present continuous vs simple present.

Main Aims

  • To review and check students' understanding of weather vocabulary and present continuous vs present simple

Subsidiary Aims

  • to provide students with a free and controlled practice to review present continuous vs present simple in the context of weather vocabulary

Procedure

warmer/ lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To engage students in the topic

Teacher ask Ss some questions about their preferred weather and how do they feel when it's hot or cold etc... which clothes do they prefer to wear in each weather ? and what they are wearing now and why? Teacher will project two pictures of two boys wearing different clothes . They will have some questions about the pictures to discuss i peers .

Presentation of vocabulary Weather (5-8 minutes) • to check students' understanding of weather vocabulary .

Ss work in pairs. - Show Ss the stack of flashcards with pictures and the stack with words. Place two stacks on a desk. - Model the activity, pulling from the top of each stack. Ask the class if the picture and the word match. Continue until a match is pulled. Put the matched cards aside and continue. - Distribute , Flashcards to each pair. - Check instructions with ICQs. - Ss review vocabulary in pairs

Controlled practice (6-8 minutes) • To practice weather vocabulary by asking each other about weather

Ss will be given handout where they have to ask their friends about what which weather they do prefer ? what are they wearing now ? What they often wear when it's hot? what they often wear when it's cold ? Ss mingle in class to ask each other questions? at the end students will be asked about whom did they talk to and what they said .

Free practice (5-7 minutes) • to provide student withe the practice of present continuous Vs Simple present

Student are given a board game with some questions where they have to use present continuous or simple present the teacher will model the activity and give clear instructions . while students are doing the activity, the teacher will be monitoring and provide help when necessary.
