In this lesson students are going to read a reading a bout a flight attendant. Tense of the text is past simple and past continuous and there are some new vocabulary in the text.

Stage1( lead in) (5-10 minutes) • To do pre-reading task in order to learn about new vacabulary in the task, and to brainstorm them prepare them for the main task.

I will ask from the students a personal question which is relvant to the text and them they will see color picture of the story through project. They will learn new vocabularies with the help of pictures. They will be asked to make a story based on the pictures and then check their answers in small groups.

Stage2 (10-15 minutes) • Gist reading

There are 5 relevant text in this reading. I'll start with the first text. Pre-teach the new vocabularies and ask students to read the text in 3 minutes and answers the questions in their groups. I I'll walk around the class and monitor groups. At the end of the task I'll ask wh questions with short answers in order to check their comprehension of the text. I'll ask students to look at picture again and re-tell the story in their groups again I'll walk around and monitor them. We'll do the first answer of discussion part as a whole class activity as a prototype but students should do the rest in their groups.

Stage3 (12-15 minutes) • Gist reading

As students finish the first text they'll get a better understanding of this reading so I'll pre-teach the new words, give the groups 3 minutes to read the each text and ask them tocheck their answers in their groups, while I'm monitoring them all. At the end of each text I'll ask wh questions with short answers in order to check their understanding of the text. Students do the discussion part in their groups.

Stage4 (5 minutes) • CCQ and productive skills

I'll ask the students to write about a time that they lost their cools and wanted to quit their jobs in 3 minutes and then share their experiences with their group mates.

Stage5 (5-10 minutes) • Activate simple past and past continuous tenses

Students will receive handouts from The New Headway workbook. They are going to answer the questions individually and then check them in small groups while I'm monitoring them. . I'll use the projector to put the picture of exercise on the whiteboard. First group that finishes the task sooner than the others will say bingo, come to the board and write the answer of one of the questions on the board. Students from each group take turns and come to the board. This continuous tilll they write all the answers on the board.

Stage 6

At the end of the class I'll give them a copy of answers to the question.
