5B Love Your Neighbours
To provide fluency speaking practice in a questionnaire in the context of neighbours
To provide review of words and phrases related to noise in the context of neighbours
Procedure (45-55 minutes)
The teacher makes a noise and elicits what it is then asks each student to chose a noise type and have them make the noise at the same time. (Noise symphony) Then the teacher asks how they feel when they hear the noise.
The teacher gives each student a picture/word card and asks them to find their matches. When they find, the teacher presents the picture and word matches. Then asks the students to work together with thier partners.
The teacher asks Ss to read the article about neighbours, to listen to eight sounds and to write a-h in the boxes. The teacher asks "Which do you think are the top three in the UK?/Which do you think are the top three in Turkey?"
Ss do the questionnaire with their partners. They ask and answer the questions each other.
The teacher takes notes while monitoring and provides feedback.
