Description

In this lesson, students will learn to use adjectives to describe their feelings when they travel.

Materials

Main Aims

  • By the end of this lesson, learners will have practiced their listening for gist and detailed comprehension, for discussing feelings when they travel.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Ss watch video about travel to introduce the topic of travel to students because this is the beginning of unit 8. - ss will guess what the video is about, and answer the questions(quickly move on)

Pre-Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

- Take a look at the pictures on the WB ( HO ) and guess what the feeling displayed is, discuss in pairs. - T will make sure all the ss know the definition/meaning of the 6 words: worried, angry, happy, bored, sad and nervous before moving on to the listening.

While Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

- Ss will get a sheet of paper, this paper will be the gist activity. - Ss will listen to the audio and choose the feeling of the person in the audio from two options. e.g. (happy/sad) - ss will discuss in pairs. - ss will get answer key.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

- ss will listen to 5 conversations again and do a gap-fill. - SS will check their answers in pairs. - ss will check their answers from the answer key

Post-Reading/Listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

S will play a game of charades to test their knowledge of the vocab words that they learned.
