Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Before the class starts I will turn the famous Italian song and let them to listen. This will take their attention. I will show them an empty luggage and tell them that I am going on a holiday this weekend to Italy to swim. I will ask them to help me to pack. I will make 2 groups and ask them to come on the board and write the things that I should take with me. In this way I will elicit the vocabulary. If they cannot find some, I will add at the end of the activity. I will start to use the sentences in the " Useful Language" box and circle what I need to take. ( swimsuit/ swimming costume, flip flops, etc.)

Pre-Reading/Listening (6-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

- Tell them that we are going to listen 2 people going on a holiday and listen to the dialogue. - Write on the board the names (Walter & Thelma) - Write on the board " Who packed the bags?" - I will ask them after listening they need to check with their pairs. - Nominated students answer the question. / Why? How did they understand? - Ask whole class if they agree or disagree.

While-Listening #1 (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

- I will tell them that they will listen again but this time they need to find what did they have in the car. - Give them the vocabulary H.O. and project the same on the board. - Ask them to circle their answers and then pair check. - Students nominate each other to say their answers. - I will tick on the board.

While-Listening #2 (6-9 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

They will listen now 1.79 and this time Walter & Thelma is at the airport. I will ask them what the problem is. First they discuss with their groups in 3. Then I will ask nominated students to tell the answers. Agree / Disagree.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will ask them to prepare their luggage. They will decide where to go and what to pack. This will be a mingle activity. They will be sitting across to each other. One student will start and move on to the other chair and have the other pair to talk. This can take 4 mins. After at all, we will stop and I will ask one or two students about their pairs. I will try to keep notes for the errors and give delayed error corrections on the board.
