Description

In this lesson SS will learn some new vocabulary related to types of films.SS will read about James Bond movies, they will read for gist and for specific information to answer questions about the text. .They will work in groups to talk about what they know about him. Then, they will try guessing the meanings of the new vocab items. Finally ,Ss will talk freely about the topic.

  • • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Ss practice fluency by speaking and share opinion on the types of films they like to watch. • Talking about James Bond and discuss :would you like to become a spy

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

t present the topic of films and starts :last night i watched a movie it was very funny and i love this type of movies so what's you favorite types ? what kind of movies you like ? then give them handout of these types and ss answers it individually first then check together and talk about whether they have watched this movies before ? and which one they liked or hated and why? then check their answers and pronunciation by listening to an audio of the new vocab.

Pre-Reading (2-3 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

t put a pic of number 007 and ask them if they know this :what did it refer to ?what's come up in your mind? t play the music of bond's movie if they didn't know then t shows another pic it's James bond and ask them :do you know him ? what do you know about him ? did you watch any film or read any books about him?then let them discuss together Introduce Ian Fleming who is best known for his James Bond series of spy novels

Pre-teaching vocabulary (4 minutes) • To teach them new vocab to help them understand the text effectively

t organised the story of James bond with pictures well-arranged and each pic has a sentence to describe it .t has written sentences on the cards and mixed them then ask ss to stick the sentence with the pictures .t sets the time only two minutes .t says :well if you want to know more about him match the pic with the right sentence with you .this will help weak ss especially weak s to understand the text and know what he is going to read then t give them feedback and clarify two words if necessary secret agent : does anyone know about this kind of jobs ?no it's secret *is he working for his country ?yes *is he trying to find secrets of another county ?(yes) *is it a safe work? no *Licence : • Do you have the right to do sth ?yes • Do you need a licence to drive (ex)? yes *Thriller • Do you feel boring while watching thriller film? no • Do you feel excited ?yes • Do you know what will happen? No

While-Reading #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

t asks ss to read the three titles then read the text fast to choose the best title. t sets time to encourage then to read for the general idea for gist t asks: do you read line by line ? no OK you have one min After that, ask them to check their answers with their partners. Then take whole class feedback.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

T asks ss to read Qs then read the text again and answer Qs which are more detailed then check in pairs and WC .tell them Eton is a private and very expensive school. The teacher is arranging one of the songs of Bond films here to create the atmosphere for the topic.t monitors to help them with any difficult vocab.

Post-Reading (3-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

after reading text T asks : Would you like to become a spy like Bond ? why or why not? Which bond movies do you like the best ?and which you did't like ? why ? then t will present a short scene of skyfall and let them speak about what happened if they watched and give another ending or if they didn't watch t asks :try to imagine what happened next ?
