Description

In this lesson Ss will learn about time management.They will start the lesson with a warm up activity.I will ask them some questions about time and how can we manage time to talk about.Then they will guessing the meaning of some idioms about time(pre-readind).After that they will read the text and answea the questions by choosing the answers .I check the understanding of vocabulary through choosing answers and discussing the ideas about their attidudes to manage time.Finally they will talk and write down three activities that waste time in the post reading stage.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about their attitude to Time-Keeoing in the context of Time

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in the debate of the context of time

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and activate schema and get Ss interested in the topic.

Ask Ss some questions (Do we respect time?) (In Egypt do we respect time ?) Ss will answer these questions . Ask Ss to tell me what is the importance of time in their life and why it is important ? Ask Ss to check in pairs. Get brief feedback from Ss.

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Ask Ss to read the idioms . Ss guess the meanings of the idioms and what it was about in their own words. Ask Ss to check in pairs. Monitor and help Ss if they need. Get feedback from Ss.

While-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

Ask Ss how to manage our time giving some pictures to think about. Give Ss handout to read the context. Ss read the sentences and the questions. Ss choose the answers from (a- b- c). Ask Ss to answer their question alone. Monitor and promote pair check. Get feedback from the Ss.

Post-Reading (speaking and writing) (8-9 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned and to provide fluency speaking in the context of powerful of speaking and writing.

Work in pairs and write down activities that waste of time. Ask Ss to discuss their answers with each others. Monitor and give directions when needed. Get feedback from Ss.

Vocabulary Focus (1-2 minutes) • To learn the vocabulary in the context of reading of time.

Give Ss hand out and set the task. Divide them into two groups and set challenge to provide excitement. Ss understand the meanings .
