Description

In this lesson, SS will be introduced to the new lexical set of clothes and colors and they will be practicing it in a range of activities, they will also practice present continuous and present simple and the question formation in the present continuous.

Procedure

Warmer (3-5 minutes) • To set the lesson context and engage students

teacher shows SS pictures of clothes or (realia) Teacher tries to elicit the word clothes teacher tells students about his clothes

Test (diagnostic ) (10-12 minutes) • To test SS current understanding

Have SS do ex.1 work book and ex.2 students' book Instructions ex.1: in pairs tell SS they have eight objects they have to match the object with its color (cut ups) give them HO with colors' cut ups teacher monitors to see what problem SS have FB on the WB (slide) nominating Have SS do ex.2 (students' book) in their groups instructions: teacher shows SS the cut ups and the clothes sheet (cut ups) and tells SS to match them pass cut ups teacher monitors SS go and check other groups FB: each student writes one answer on the WB

clarifying target language (8-10 minutes) • To clarify meaning of target language

after the feedback from the last two exercises teacher shows the colors and clothes on WB try to get SS on the board and write the words (colors) on the WB elicit which items are for women highlight the use of a with singular items (jumper) highlight that the word trousers is plural in english teacher corrects mistakes if there's any SS go back to their seats and teacher drills the words with WC

controlled practice (5-6 minutes) • To concept check

Have SS do ex.1 (students' book) in groups of 3-4 instructions: teacher shows SS the cut ups and tells SS to match them pass HO teacher monitors SS go and check other groups

instruction ex 2: in pairs or groups of 3 tell SS to cover what they sheets and try to do the ex show SS the crossword and the pictures next to it (across and down) complete the crossword with words teacher monitors to see what problem SS have FB on the WB (slide) nominating
