Eating out - restaurant language
For them to be a ble to have a small conversation in English when they go to a restaurant.
To make sure they are happy and the lesson is engaging for them.
Procedure (44-55 minutes)
Split the group into 2 teams and ask them to both go to a whiteboard and write down as many cuisines as they can think of E.G. Burmese, Thai... etc.. Tell them the have 2 minutes to do this.
In small discussion groups get them to have a think about what types of conversations you would have with a waiter/waitress or someone who works at the front of house. Get them thinking about the topics you would talk about as well as maybe the conversation you might have. Allow them 10 minutes for this. After they have done that come back together as a group and get them to come and write on the white board what they came up with and talk about it as a group. allow 8 minutes for this.
get them to as a group put in order the conversation and the order you would have the conversation in. match the phrases and the meaning. After they have done this go through and and ask why they would do this for a few of them.
