In this lesson, Students will work on the receptive skill of reading with the general context of Lifestyle Changes. They will do jigsaw activity with the text and then their going to answer few activities related to the text. Finally, They will work on the productive skill of speaking

Main Aims

  • To provide scan, detailed and deduction reading practice using a text about life coach and life changing decisions in the context of Lifestyle Changes

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Lifestyle Changes


Stage 1 (Warmer/Lead-in) (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Greets students to the class -Ask questions "What they would like to change in their life and why? -Then ask "How do you think you can change it?" -Instruct the Ss to discuss the above questions in pairs

Stage 2 (Vocabulary) (5-7 minutes) • To provide definition of the necessary vocabulary that they need to understand the text

-Group the Ss -Instruct the Ss to match the definitions with the words -Give the Ss cut-outs of the new vocabulary and their definitions -Monitor their progress and the way that they pronounce the new vocabulary -Give the Ss FB of the vocabulary -If encounter any problem with pronunciation during the activity, do the delay error correction and model and drill the correct pronunciation

Stage 3 (Reading) (13-15 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-Group the Ss into two groups, give each group different part of the text (A & B) from SB page 70, 71 and instruct them to read the text and answer the activity 2 from SB page 70 -The Ss must compare their answers in pairs -Give FB for each group -Ask the Ss to find a partner with different paper's color (so each pair has text A & B) -Instruct the Ss to explain to their partner the part of the text that they had read -Display the slide with the activity 3 from SB page 70 and instruct the Ss to find the answers in pairs -Give them FB of the activity 3 SB page 70

Stage 4 (Vocabulary) (5-6 minutes) • To provide definition of some useful vocabulary

-Group the Ss (5 group) -Instruct them to match the cut-out of the vocabulary 2 -Give the groups cut-outs -Ask them to compare their answers to the other groups -FB -Monitor them during the activity -If any problem with pronunciation encountered, delay error correction, model the word and drill it (Individually and choral)

Free Practice (12-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-Group the Ss (5 groups) -Display the slide of the activity 4 from SB page 70 -Instruct the Ss to discuss the questions of the activity 4 SB page 70 in group -Monitor them
