Description

In this lesson, students will review countable nouns and uncountable nouns. Then, they will have an activity to answer about the quantity expressions: none, not any, a few, a little, several, some, many, a lot, much, lots and plenty. Then, they will how to give a singular from uncountable nouns.

  • To provide review, clarification and practice of nouns and quantity expressions in the context of food

  • To provide process writing practice of a three sentences in the context of using quantity expressions

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show Ss a video about the food around the world Give Ss hand-out to discuss two questions in pairs Discuss these questions in pairs: Which food do you prefer organic or fast food?why? what do you have in your breakfast?

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language
