Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher leads in with cultural music all around the world. Teacher plays the sounds from Indian music, Japanese music, Turkish music etc; and asks the class; what are these and elicits different music from different countries; music across cultures.

Pre-Reading (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Teacher first elicits some of the vocabulary that is in the reading via showing pictures. The words are: housework, grandfather, grandmother, flat. Teacher also elicits for the past tense of the words: is/was, work/worked, buy/bought, help/helped

While-Reading (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Teacher says I will give you two minutes to read; shows the handout that she will be giving the all the ss and says answer this question after quickly reading (the question is written on the handout). Teacher goes on with the FB session and asks the WC what the answer is.

While-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Teacher says now read again for 3 minutes and afterwards forms groups of three and gives another handout with questions. Teacher explains on the H/O how they will answer the questions and gives the handouts. Teacher asks for the answers (one answer from each group) Teacher, then asks the answers for the next handout. (ss working in the same groups) For the FB, she makes the ss read the questions and ss from different groups to answer as true or false.

Post-Reading (3-5 minutes) • Grammar

The teacher goes through the TL. She goes through the form of the sentence, question and answer forms in both past and present tense. (She cooks (cooked). Does(Did) she cook? Yes, she does (did).)

Practice TL (2-4 minutes) • To elicit students' comprehension of the form

The teacher gives the handouts for fill in the blanks task

Post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Teacher puts ss in PW. Teacher gives the instructions to the task via putting the instructions sheet and a copy of the hand out on the board. SS start discussing after completing their tasks on the handouts. At the FB teacher collects the students with the most number of yes to exercise 2b and congratulates the winners.

Post-Reading (7-10 minutes) • More speaking

Teacher plays the video and asks the class to discuss among each other in PW 1) What country do you think is this? 2) What is happening in the video? 3) What is the add trying to say? After they finish discussing teacher collects ideas via nominating and gives her thoughts
