Procedure

Warmer (5 minutes) • To engage students

Ask Ss to play the instruction game. Sit down, stand up, turn around, jump, run, stomp, skip, stop. Write instructions on WB. Let Ss do the action by indicating them on WB. Play and sing the "Hello song", mime and gesture are important.

Lead-in (10 minutes) • To set the context of the lesson

Show Ss the Farmer picture. Elicit Farmer and what a farmer does. He has a lot of animals. His name is Old MacDonald, he is a farmer. Show Ss animals pictures and elicit vocabulary. Chicken, cow, dog, duck, sheep.

Vocabulary revision (10 minutes) • To provide Ss with a recision of previous lesson animal vocabulary

Ask older Ss to help, they will be the leaders of each group. Divide the class into groups. Ss has to match the pictures with the correct vocabulary. FB WC.

Old MacDonald Song (15 minutes) • To give Ss the opportunity of practice the TL

Ss will sing a song about the farmer, Old MacDonald. T points picture on WB. T sings the song alone. HO MacDonald lyrics. Ss sing the song, first slowly then faster.

What's your name activity (8 minutes) • To generate interest

Ask Ss to write their names on a piece of paper. T writes on WB (two colours): What's your name? My name is *name and I am an *animal (previously assigned). T take pictures of each S asking What's your name? Ss will have their pictures print for next lesson. Ask Ss to mingle around and ask each other what's your name?

Presentation (8 minutes) • To practice functional language

Help younger Ss with numbers (1-10). T writes on WB elicit from Ss. T writes on WB (two colours): How old are you? I am *age years old. Ask Ss to ask and answer each other questions.

Age line (10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ask Ss to make a line in age order, they have to ask each other questions to be able to do it. Younger and louder Ss can go out to play.

Good-bye song (5 minutes) • To end up the activities

Sing, mime and gesture for the Good-bye song.
