To provide clarification of the time and practice functional language in the context of telling the time.
To provide gist listening practise about the time lexis.
Procedure (9-25 minutes)
Give students three activities: Activity 1: Stick amatreial and picture about clock clarifying the meaning of (AM-PM-morning-evening-afternoon-at midnight-at-o,clock-long arm-short arm-midday). Activity 2: Give them material about the digital way of telling the time . Activity 3: Give them material about the ordinary way of telling the time imagining clock is as a pies of cake divided into many pieses and some of these pieses called QUARTERS and HALF. Ask CCQs to check the meaning.
Give handout exercises to Ss from Ss book tell them to read the sentences and fill in the gaps and complete the sentences( telling the time). Ss work individually to answer the exercise and then they peer-check the answers together. Promote to write answers on thrir handsout. Check with the whole class to see if there are any problems.
Chest ahandout about fill in the space and match. Ss write sentences using the beginnings. Ss peer-check and compare answers. check answers with the whole class.
This time Ss will answer with their partener some specific questions on the sheet and get some specific time related answers.If there is time I will handout last activity ,if not I will hand out it any way to be done at home.
