Description

In this lesson students will learn about relationships.They will start the lesson with a warm up activity .I will show them some pictures about some kinds of relationships to talk about.Then they will answer the pre-reading question.After that they will read the text and answer the questions like tick true or false on it through the while reading stage.I will check the understanding of vocabulary through matching exercise. Finally , they will talk about themselves in the post reading stage.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about Important relationships in the context of relationships

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in the debate of the context of relationships

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and and activate schema and get Ss interested in the topic.

Write these questions on the board "can we live alone ?","How can we aviod to be alone?" Ss will answer these questions. Show Ss some pictures of some kinds of relationships in our life. Elicit more kinds of relationships from Ss. Ask Ss to Choose the most important relationship in his life and why it's important for him? Ask Ss to check in pairs. Get brief feedback from Ss.

Pre-Reading (4-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Set Ex.1,P.20.Ss read the instructions. Ss report back what it was about in their own words. Ask Ss to check in peers. monitor And help Ss if they need. Get feedback from Ss.

While-Reading1 (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading task

Set Ex.2,P.20 Ask Ss to read the text and check their ideas . Ask Ss to answer this question alone . monitor and promote peer check. Check the answers with the WC.

Vocabulary focus (3-5 minutes) • To learn the vocabulary in the context of reading of relationships

Give Ss handouts and set the task. divide them into two groups and set challenge to provide excitement. Ss match the words with their meanings. The early finishers write the answers in the board.

While-Reading2 (3-5 minutes) • To provide reading for gist and specific details in the context of the kinds of friendships.

Give Ss handout.Set the task. Ss read the sentences .Ss read the text again and tick true or false. First Ss work individually .Then, they will check in pairs . Monitor and promote peer check. Get feed back from the Ss.

Speaking (3-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned and to provide fluency speaking in the context of powerful speaking.

Set Ex.3,P.20 Ss answer the question Ask Ss to discuss their answers with each others. Monitor and give directions when needed. Get feedback from Ss.
