In this lesson, students get to know new vocabulary about daily life and routine. later on they are assigned a based- speaking task to implement the vocabulary into usage.

Main Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T first tells ss about his normal daily life and asks them to work in pairs to tell each other about things they do before they come to class.

Exposure (6-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T shows ss some different pictures on the board to brainstorm them, elicit from them the T.L. he may ask some few CCQs to make sure ss got the meaning correctly.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T clarifies T.L on the board, based on ECDW. He clarifies the meaning, drill with the students not for them, set the part of speech of T.L.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T sets ss into pairs, gives each pair parts of collocations, asks them to find the other part and stick them into the correct photos. then they check each others`.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

T assigns ss a sheet of paper on which are found two different activities on the vocabulary they do. they work individually and then check in pairs. T shows the answer key on the board.

Free Practice (12-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T gives ss scraps of papers on which are written questions on daily life and routine, sets ss into two main groups, let them ask and answer each other while he monitors for errors and records them to be corrected later.
